EXCHANGE CARTRIDGES for PROCESS APPLICATIONS

For CNC/finished washing machines:
High quality finished components frequently need to be degreased in water baths using a variety of chemicals and high-quality rinse waters.

Throughout the UK the water quality varies dramatically; from low hardness waters which have a tendency to contain high levels of organics to high hardness water which leave a scum on the metal surface.

In addition, should heat be applied the contaminants within the water get baked onto the hot surfaces either as scale or a brown scum.

All UK drinking water contains chlorine to prevent bacterial growth however this can have an adverse effect on stainless steel and some other alloys.

PWEL offers a range of exchange cylinders to counteract the effects of water quality variances:

  • In soft water areas specific combinations of ion exchange and other medias are used to remove any remaining minerals, organics, suspended solids and chlorine.
  • In hard water areas ion exchange media is used to remove the minerals, and additional filtration is used to remove the suspended matter and chlorine/chloramines.

EXCHANGE CARTRIDGES for COMMERCIAL KITCHENS

For Vending & Drinks Machines / Dish & Glass Washers / Steam Ovens:

Vending and drinks machines:

The main constituent of drinks from a vending machine is water.

All drinking waters contain chlorine to prevent bacterial growth, but this can react in the cooking process to produce a ‘TCP’ like taste.

Dish and Glass washing machines

These are invariably fitted with a water softener, which is why they require salt. But they still require rinse aid to get the crockery and glass clean. However often this isn’t enough, and no amount of rinse aid is going to achieve the desired effect.

Steam Ovens

They have fine steam jets which heat the product. These jets become blocked without the proper water treatment leading to incorrect heating and additional mechanical servicing/cleaning.

PWEL offer a range of exchange cylinders to counteract the effects of water quality variances:

  • In soft water areas specific media is used to remove any organics and discolouration.
  • In hard water areas ion exchange media is used to reduce the hardness which also improves the flavour of the drink.

In all cases a filter is recommended to remove any chlorine/chloramines from the water. The filter cartridge will also increase the life of the components within the machine.

The results mean less down-time to clean the machine and a better quality of finished product.
