Self-Cleaning

Self-Cleaning Filtration

The advantage of a self-cleaning filter is that as it becomes fouled it will clean itself discharging the suspended matter to drain.  As such it can accommodate variation in the incoming waters suspended solids levels.  The self-cleaning filter is fitted with a range of filter elements from 50 to 500 micron.

Self-Cleaning Filtration

Initiation of the cleaning mode is via either a timer, a rate of flow meter, or a pressure differential switch.

The suspended matter on the internal surface of the filter material is removed via that drain nozzles and discharged to drain.

The cleaning has a duration of 1 minute and the discharge volume to drain per cycle is approximately 15 litres.
